Description from the author’s website:

He’s always been a player.
Dashing Lord Harry Traemore is perfectly content to live out his days in the pursuit of pleasure. But when he’s named by the Prince Regent as one of society’s “Impossible Bachelors,” Harry is drafted into a ribald romantic wager. The rules of engagement are scandalously simple: The bachelor whose mistress wins the title of “Most Delectable Companion” gets to remain unmarried. Harry is utterly unconcerned about his status…until his latest lightskirt abandons him.

Who will win this game of love?
Enter Lady Molly Fairbanks. Harry’s childhood friend—actually, “foe” is more like it—is the most unlikely companion of all. She’s attractive but hot-headed, and in no mood for games. Besides, what could the self-indulgent Harry possibly know about what makes a woman delectable? It’s time for Molly to teach him a lesson once and for all…but will it lead to “happily ever after?”

**

This is a well written, silly, suspend your disbelief, often laugh out loud historical.  No regency lady would act like Molly and no “honorable” gentleman would act like Harry.  But in spite of the absolute trashing of accuracy this was a light and frothy read.

I tend to like my historical romances a bit more on the believable side although I make that statement with a broad meaning.  Kramer is a good writer and I am tempted to give her a pass and try one of her more recent offerings.

I have been umming and ahhing over this one, but I think I will give it a miss. Only because I have so many books on my TBR already.

    • It wasn’t a bad read, Mo. It was just so far “out-there”. It was well written so I’ll be looking for something more from this author.

I had heard the book is well written and your review confirms that for me. I think it’s the believability factor that kind of decides it. I may pick it up after a really dark and heavy read when I need something light, fluffy and totally unbelievable :) .

I’m currently reading Magic Slays. I put it off for ages because the wait between books is so long, and to be honest I was kind of scared that it wouldn’t live up to my expectations. Am really enjoying it so far.

Edyta, not sure if you’ll read this but my local library has gotten all the Toby Daye books, on my request :) . So I have books 2, 3 and 4 waiting to be read. Libraries rock!

I just saw your comment Mo. I was having issues with my email for some reason.
Yey to Toby books. Can’t wait to hear what you think of them.
I stopped reading Kate Daniels on Magic Bleeds. I really didn’t like the direction of that book (we had a loooong discussion on DSB ab it) and having read some reviews of the last one, I am done with that series. I do realize that I’m in a huge minority here.
