Description from amazon.com:
When Evelyn Morgan walked into the village bookstore, she didn’t know she would meet the love of her life. When Brendan Thorne handed her a medieval romance, he didn’t know it would change the course of his future. It was almost as if they were the cursed lovers in the old book itself . . .
The Thorn and the Blossom is a remarkable literary artifact: You can open the book in either direction to decide whether you’ll first read Brendan’s, or Evelyn’s account of the mysterious love affair. Choose a side, read it like a regular novel—and when you get to the end, you’ll find yourself at a whole new beginning.

I’m staring off the new year with a fresh approach to book printing. At least it is new to me and I love it.
Yes, you can open the book in either direction, but I’m happy I read Evelyn’s story first. Maybe it doesn’t make a difference but I recommend reading that way.
This is a good story. It is a fantasy where cursed, starcrossed lovers are seemingly reunited through time. It is romantic, sad and of course you are led to believe that all could possibly work out in the end.
I loved that it was in this quirky format(see photos below), beautifully packaged. This book would make a lovely gift for Valentine’s Day, an anniversary, or just for a loved one. It is a bit pricey, $11.53 on pre-order, but worth it for the quality of the book, the lovely story and its giftability. Actually for all that, its a bargain. The illustrations are a nice added touch.

Dot, it’s like you’re reading my mind. I eyed this book a little while back and thought the concept interesting, plus I’m a sucker for a love story. I love the photos you added, I had no idea it was laid out like that. I am definitely going to preorder and buy this for myself
.
I should have said it was the “Perfect gift for yourself” also.
I’m a sucker for quirky books of any kind. I collect pop-up books which I also consider kind of quirky.
I must have the worst library system is the world! I can never find any of the books you recommend either in book form or e-book form.

This one isn’t published until Jan. 17th. But it is pre-order-able in the USA on Amazon, I’m not sure about Canada. It won’t be an e-book since it’s kind of a quirky format. It may not be in the Library either, I’m not sure. Sorry, Gracie!!
