SCANDALOUS DESIRES . . .

Amy Hardwick has one last Season to shake off her wallflower image and make a love match. If she can’t, she’ll set aside her dreams of romance and return home to a suitor who can provide security-if little else. What she doesn’t count on is the inappropriate-and irresistible-attention lavished on her in a darkened library by rake extraordinaire Will “The Devil” Darcett . . .

DEVILISH DELIGHT

When Will is caught in a tryst with the ton’s shyest miss, he knows he must offer for her hand. Yet Amy is not the shrinking violet she seems to be. Passion lies beneath her prim exterior and Will is eager to release it. But winning Amy isn’t simply a matter of seduction; first, Will must convince her that he’s mended his wicked ways . . .

**

We first meet Amy in Dreiling’s first book HOW TO MARRY A DUKE.  She is shy and anxiety ridden but strives to overcome these obstacles to her enjoyment of life.  We don’t meet Will Darcett until this book and that is the biggest problem for me.  I wished I had become as invested in his story as I was in Amy’s.  Although the plot was an interesting one there was a bit of repetition that took away from the story.

I did enjoy this book!  This is a sweet ending to the series and I liked that familiar characters appeared throughout all three books.  There is lots of steamy love scenes in this final offering and Dreiling does a good job of writing them.  I look forward to reading more from Vicky Dreiling.

(Sometimes, when reading, I get a feeling that some editor or publisher said to the author, “Oh, this book needs to be longer.”  I’ve also thought the opposite where I think necessary pages have been edited out of the book.  I do wish the publishers would just leave these good authors alone.  In this book I don’t know if there was any interference with the author but it felt like it.)

Also, I have to let you know that today I picked up 8 books for $13. I was so excited! I found out about this bookstore that’s closing down and went to have a look. There were lots of books but I had to control myself :). Bargains can be had here!

Go Mo with your savvy shopping!!!

Now, I just finished Wicked Intentions (took me a while as I was a bit sick, summer colds suck). I loved that book. I’m glad (and thank you) both for not leting me snark about the names (I still think they are BAD) without giving Hoyt a try. Great great read.
