Description from Amazon.com:

American lass seeks brawny Scot…

As if being newly single isn’t brutal enough, Sloane Chatfield’s friends are getting obnoxious about setting her up. When Sloane insists she’s waiting for a certain sexy fictional Highlander to come along, her friends surprise her with a trip to Scotland to find her a new boyfriend. She’d rather have a root canal. But if she can find a Highland hunk to “break her heart” before her friends arrive…

In a remote Highland village, Galen Buchanan is struggling to keep the family pub afloat. Everything is falling apart, he’s running out of money, and now there’s an opinionated American lass parked at his best table, driving him mad. But then Sloane asks Galen to be her pretend Highland boyfriend…and offers him enough money to save the pub. It’s only for a few days, he figures. What’s the worst that could happen?

**

Sloane is getting over being dumped by her fiancé by becoming a workaholic. Her friends want her to snap out of it so they are delighted with the idea that she is going to vacation in Scotland to find her “Jamie Frasier”. Of course Sloane has no intentions of finding anyone but with her friends arriving in Scotland in a few days she needs someone to pretend to be her found boyfriend. Galen is the hunky Scot behind the bar at the Black Thistle and Sloane propositions him to be her “boyfriend” by offering a hefty sum that he needs to upgrade his bar. The pretend part works well for a while until feelings start to surface.

There is lots to like about this novel. There is a hunky Scot and a determined American. The writing is full of the humorous banter that always puts a smile on my face. The bickering between the H & h is just fun especially with the Scottish burr that the author can almost make you hear.

The story progresses well and we think early on that there will be a happily-ever-after but then our H/h start to over think the relationship and others try to come between them.

I liked this book! I did think the ending was a bit abrupt especially with all the angst that just went before. I recommend this book to all fans of romance but especially if you like the Highlanders.
