$0.99 on Kindle-The complete Works of Jane Austen

The Complete Works of Jane Austen

The Complete Works of Jane Austen includes all six novels, and Austen’s shorter works; Lady Susan, The Watsons, Sandition, and her complete Juvenilia. Jane Austen is famous for her six novels, Sense and Sensibility, Pride and prejudice, Mansfield Park, Emma, Northanger Abbey, and Persuasion. Her works of romantic fiction, set among the landed gentry, earned her a place as one of the most widely read writers in English literature. Her realism, biting irony and social commentary as well as her acclaimed plots have gained her historical importance among scholars and critics.

London Library Bars- Yeah!

Found on BuzzFeed  16 Library Bars in London

Now this is my idea of a fun way to drink my wine.  Usually I favor Pinot Grigio but in these settings I may have to go with a Pinot Noir or Merlot or even two fingers of a single malt. completely ensconced in my book I may not even notice the famous author sitting by the fire.

Deet’s Five Year Blogaversary and Men in Kilts

5th-birthday-cake-photo

This is my five year Blogaversary.  It’s hard to believe it has been five years but I confess I’ve enjoyed it and I’ve made a few friends along the cyber highway. I was going to do a giveaway this week to celebrate the event but had to change that plan.  It seems I can’t encourage enough response to my giveaways so I will not be doing them in the future.  I hope you will continue to enjoy La Deetda Reads and I will keep those recommendations coming.

Since I still want to give away treats for this Blogaversary, how about 5 men in kilts.

Deet’s Year End Rec’s for Romance Lovers

It is that time of the year when I usually tell you about my favorite books of the year but this year there were at least 45!!!  If you go to my header up above and click on “Deet’s Favorite Reads of…” you will see the entire list.  You can then go to the search box and find the reviews for them.

Goodreads has done a fabulous job of putting together my stats and showing the book covers for the ones that I read.  This is really fun to look at so I encourage you to take a look.  You will get some good recommendations here, all on one page.

I did fall in love with some stunning book covers too. Here are a few of my favorites:

The curiosity Keeper

This cover just shouts Regency Era. I love it.

The Art of Sinning 3

I don’t know who this model is, but isn’t that the most sinful look you’ve ever seen?

The Daring Exploits of a Runaway HeiressI love this one for the color, my favorite.

The Legend of Lyon Redmond

Besides loving this book and series, this cover gets my vote for the book cover that relates most to the story and it’s pretty.

Reason to wed

Okay this one was a terrific, 5-star book with the worst cover ever!!!
