Carrying a Torch for Moonlight

Moonlight Alex 2

Confession time:  I’ve never gotten over the cancellation of the TV show MOONLIGHT (2007-2008).   The one about the vampire, Mick St. John, played by Alex O’Laughlin and the internet reporter, Beth, played by Sophia Miles.  Actually I never saw every show in the season until I got the total DVD collection.  I loved the whole concept of vampire romance and still do. And there is nothing like a handsome sexy vampire on Halloween.   Here are a couple of vids that will show you what you missed in case you missed the show back in the day.

I just want to make love to you (Etta James)

Love song for a Vampire (Annie Lennox)

So tell me, any of you still carrying a torch for an old TV show or movie or Alex O’Laughlin lookalike?

Extra- “Dracula” coming to NBC

Dracula NBC

I’m not expecting to like it as much as I swoon over the old “Moonlight” series, but I’m willing to give it a try.  Trueblood and The Vampire Diaries have not been able to steal my heart from “Moonlight”.  Here is what NBC has to say about its new show (not yet scheduled).

The father of all vampires rises in this provocative new drama starring Golden Globe® winner Jonathan Rhys Meyers (“The Tudors”) as one of the world’s most iconic characters.

It’s the late 19th century, and the mysterious Dracula has arrived in London, posing as an American entrepreneur who wants to bring modern science to Victorian society. He’s especially interested in the new technology of electricity, which promises to brighten the night – useful for someone who avoids the sun. But he has another reason for his travels: he hopes to take revenge on those who crossed him centuries earlier. Everything seems to be going according to plan… until he becomes infatuated with a woman who appears to be a reincarnation of his dead wife.

From the producers of the critically acclaimed, Emmy Award®-winning hit “Downton Abbey” comes DRACULA, a twisted, sophisticated and provocative take on Bram Stoker’s classic novel, proving that some stories are truly eternal.

Sexy Man Tuesday- William Levy

My standard jaw flap is “I don’t watch TV, I read.”.  Well that’s stretching the truth a bit.  I read when my favorite shows are on hiatus.  One of my fave shows is about to start up again on March 19th, Dancing With The StarsSince I’m a huge fan of this show I could hardly wait to see the cast announcement.  When I got to William Levy I just simply forgot about everyone else on the list.  This is the first time I’ve ever envied Cheryl Burke, his partner.  I hope he lasts awhile and is not voted off since he is eyecandy of the highest order.  He’s Cuban, so I’m hoping for a bit of Latin Lover accent when he speaks.  Oh enough of my babbling, here judge for yourself….

He had me at that smile….

Save a horse…you know the rest……

What’s not to love about a man who can use a tool….

I had to get in one of my fave kinds of photos, the broody, bedroom eyes shot. M-m-m-m

Sexy Man Tuesday- DWTS Hot Pros

Yes, my Monday night/Tuesday night guilty pleasure is ABC’s Dancing With The Stars.  Not only are the professional dancers fabulous dancers but they are all HOT-HOT-HOT!  Here is the creme de la creme of that show. This week they are in the semi-finals so tune in to see these guys in action.  Well… you can see Max and Derek, the other guys got voted off. 😦

Derek Hough- Boy next door-wins my best dancer/best choreographer vote

Tristan MacManus and Val Chmerkovskiy- new kids on the block, hm-m-m afraid to take off their shirts?

Maxim Chmerkovskiy- Ego as big as his muscles

Mark Ballas- Yum!

Here is my favorite dance from the show(I think it was 2008) with Derek Hough and Jennifer Grey.

Sexy Man Tuesday- Jason Momoa as Khal Drogo and Conan

What is it about this barbarian that is so sexy?  I think we love Kahl Drogo because he is not only barbaric but we get to glimpse the softer, thoughtful man inside the bad boy, and his being a hunky man helps a good deal, too.

Jason Momoa plays Kahl Drogo in the HBO series “Game of Thrones” and he also stars in the recently released “Conan” movie.  I am a huge fan of the HBO series.  It is so well acted and written that the characters just suck you in and won’t let go.  George R.R. Martin, who wrote the books, must be very pleased with the way his work has been handled.  I have not read the books….I know, I’m feeling a bit guilty about it….but I am so enthralled with the show that I don’t want to confuse myself, or maybe I’m just lazy.  All I do know is that I cannot wait for the next season.  If you missed the first season you can play catch-up ( if you are an HBO subscriber) on HBOGO.com and no one is compensating me for this plug.

This last photo shows our barbarian all cleaned up in modern duds.  Still YUM!
