**

I read and reviewed the first book in this novella series and gave it 5 stars. This one did not live up to my expectations. I felt there was some wasted words on repetition when a more in depth look at the situation was needed. I was pleased with the author’s views concerning Sarah’s post-partum concerns and Edmund’s attempts at helping, even though I don’t believe a Regency aristocrat would change nappies. I will read this author again because she does write an interesting story but this one was just not for me.

Certain individuals might consider Lady Amelia Pembroke a managing sort of female, but truly, most people would be lost without her help. Why, the latest on-dit is that rakish Viscount Sheffield is canceling the fete of the year because he hasn’t time for silly soirees. He doesn’t need time—he needs her! When a flash of lightning destroys the venue for his family’s annual Christmas ball, Lord Benedict Sheffield intends to enjoy a relaxing holiday for once. But after twelve days of beguiling Lady Amelia’s guerrilla tactics, he’s up to his cravat with tinsel… and tumbling head over heels in love. I confess!!! I got this book because it was Free on Amazon. Yes, I like free. But this one was so delightful that I am truly happy I “bought” another free book. (I’m not always delighted) This novella starts out like a totally ditsy farce like an Oscar Wilde play, then it settles down only a little and we get some romance. Like many novellas, I wanted more of both Benedict and Amelia but I will forgive everything because this was so well written and it left me grinning for hours after I finished. I will definitely be looking at the remainder of books in this series. Erica Ridley is a diamond of the first water.

Free on Amazon USA and UK and possibly others.
