Description from Amazon.com:

SEASON’S KISSES . . . Wild child Chloe Thompson can’t believe how much things have changed. She still can’t get enough of her sexy husband Sawyer, but he seems to prefer working to impending fatherhood. So tonight, a very pregnant Chloe is escaping her troubles at the town Christmas party. Sheriff Sawyer Thompson hopes surprising Chloe at the party will give him a chance to set things right. But as the snow begins to fall and the wind rages, he wonders whether he can make it back in time. While mother nature conspires to keep Sawyer and Chloe apart, an unexpected arrival will require them to kiss and make up . . . and ring in the happiest holiday Lucky Harbor has ever seen.

This story will especially appeal to those who remember being in love and having your first child. Chloe is 8 months pregnant and she is having ups and downs from hormone retribution. Sawyer is trying to work extra jobs to build a room onto their house for the baby. They have been married 5 years and this baby is a total surprise. This is a story that will ring true to anyone who has been pregnant. Jill Shalvis has spun a tale that rings of reality so we can assume that Ms Shalvis has been there/done that.

This is a short story of 65 pages, during the holiday hustle and bustle it only takes an hour to escape with this heartwarming, humorous, sometimes sexy story. There is a good dose of Christmasy feeling thrown in for good measure.

Description from Amazon.com:

For Olivia Bentley, Lucky Harbor is more than the town where she runs her new vintage shop. It’s the place where folks are friendly to strangers-and nobody knows her real name. Olivia does a good job of keeping her past buried, not getting too cozy with anyone . . . until she sees a man drowning. Suddenly she’s rushing into the surf, getting up close and personal with the hottest guy she’s ever laid hands on. Charter boat captain Cole Donovan has no problem with a gorgeous woman throwing her arms around his neck in an effort to “save” him. In fact, he’d like to spend a lot more time skin-to-skin with Olivia. He’s just not expecting that real trouble is about to come her way. Will it bring her deeper into Cole’s heart, or will it be the end of Olivia’s days in little Lucky Harbor?

This is the #11 book in Shalvis’ Lucky Harbor Series but go ahead and jump right in because it is a standalone novel and a fun and romantic story. Shalvis starts off with a comical and daring “rescue” of Cole by Olivia. How can they not get together when one thing leads to no clothes? But Olivia has secrets and some emotional baggage and Cole is a guy who values honesty above all. It is quick and delightful reading to discover how Shalvis will make this obviously perfect match actually work out even though it is a bit predictable. The side characters have been met in previous books of the series and they will make you want to read their stories if you are coming in late to the series, as will those characters who are still waiting for their stories to happen. Tanner and Callie will get theirs in the next installment of the series, ONE IN A MILLION (October, 2014).

A top-notch Contemproary romance from a top-notch author. You’re gonna love it.

Description from Amazon.com:

After a wrenching loss, Ben McDaniel tried to escape his grief by working in dangerous, war-torn places like Africa and the Middle East. Now he’s back in his hometown and face-to-face with Aubrey Wellington, the hot-as-hell woman who is trouble with a capital T. Family and friends insist she’s not the one to ease his pain, but Aubrey sparks an intense desire that gives Ben hope for the future.

Determined to right the wrongs of her past, Aubrey is working hard to make amends. But by far, the toughest challenge to her plan is sexy, brooding Ben – even though he has absolutely no idea what she’s done . . .

Can this unlikely couple defy the odds and win over the little town of Lucky Harbor?

The writing is good, the premise is good but I couldn’t find anything very different or new in this novel.  I liked that Aubrey was trying to make amends for her past but I was annoyed that Ben thought what she was doing was any of his business.  He was obsessed with finding out what she was doing.  She deserved some privacy.  Other than his stalker like persona, he was actually a guy to be admired.

Ms. Shalvis is a writer who can inject humor and pathos into her writing and keep us turning pages.

Description from amazon.com:

Grace never thought she’d be starting her life over from scratch. Losing everything has landed her in Lucky Harbor, working as a dog walker for overwhelmed ER doctor Josh Scott. But the day his nanny fails to show up, Grace goes from caring for Josh’s lovable mutt to caring for his rambunctious son. Soon Grace is playing house with the sexy single dad . . .
With so many people depending on him, Josh has no time for anything outside of his clinic and family-until Grace arrives in town. Now this brainy blonde is turning his life inside out and giving a whole new meaning to the phrase “good bedside manner.” Josh and Grace don’t know if what they have can last. But in a town like Lucky Harbor, a lifetime of love starts with just one day . .

First some back story on how I came to read this book.  Like you, I subscribe to several bloggers who give me great reading suggestions.  Two of those bloggers absolutely raved about this book.  I really respect their opinions so I immediately bought it from Amazon for my Kindle.  That was yesterday, I finished it in one sitting.

I’m new to Jill Shalvis, this is my first book of hers, it won’t be my last.  Now I’m compelled to start at the beginning with this series to learn all about those quirky characters that inhabit Lucky  Harbor.

Can pheromones portend true love?  Yes, yes they can when the chemistry between Grace and the good doctor is sending off sparks the first time they meet and it just doesn’t fizzle out.  This is one steamy hot novel.  It is also about loyalty, responsibility, destiny and finding true happiness.

If you are looking for an easy, uplifting, often humorous contemporary romance then look no further.  This is a great one to take to the beach this August.

Oh BTW, Those fab bloggers I mentioned earlier would love it if you checked them out.
