Description from Amazon.com:

Sparks abound in this sizzling new Legendary Lovers tale from New York Times bestselling author Nicole Jordan, in which a seductive rakehell must woo his spirited but love-shy bride while unmasking a mysterious assailant.   Despite his notorious reputation, Quinn Wilde, Earl of Traherne, has mostly honorable intentions. So when beautiful Venetia Stratham boldly enters a gentlemen’s club, demanding that Quinn stop courting her sister, he does what any bachelor would do: He kisses her. With her sharp wit, intoxicating passion, and surprising vulnerability, Venetia is irresistible—except for all this nonsense about threatening to shoot Quinn. But when clandestine enemies make an actual attempt on the earl’s life, Venetia is implicated. To save her good name, Quinn does what any true gentleman must do: He proposes.   Thus Venetia finds herself wed to arrogant, wickedly sensual Quinn, whose devilish ways are as legendary as his rumored skills as a lover. Yet vexingly, her body rebels against her vow to remain immune to his many charms. If only she could reform the infuriating nobleman—without diminishing his undeniable allure. As Venetia discovers that a true rake is hard to tame, Quinn faces an even greater challenge: winning his wife’s fragile trust . . . while defending both their lives.

**

Venetia only wants to live an unfettered life.  All she wants is to go to France with her dear friend Cleo and pursue her sculpting where women are not scorned for pursuing the arts. Quinn has agreed that whatever she wants after the marriage is okay with him.  However Venetia did not expect that she would find her husband so alluring and we are treated to over half a book of will-she-or won’t-she succumb to his charm.

This is a book filled with light banter and lustful looks.  A happily predictable story about stubbornness and true love.  I recommend it to HR readers who want a light read that is also sexy after awhile.

Description from Amazon.com:

The most charming Wilde cousin, Lady Skye has secretly loved the enigmatic Earl of Hawkhurst since girlhood, long before the tragedy that left him scarred both physically and emotionally. When Skye learns that the celebrated hero has returned to England from his self-imposed exile to make a cold marriage of convenience, she brazenly plants herself on his castle doorstep, determined to convince Hawk that she alone is his true mate and destiny. An elite member of the Guardians of the Sword, Hawk has vowed never again to risk the pain of loving—but that’s before he deals with the most enchanting, annoyingly persistent seductress he’s ever encountered. One night of blazing passion leaves him impossibly torn. Will Hawk choose duty over love, or will he open his heart and let Skye’s healing light penetrate his darkness?

From the Author:

SECRETS OF SEDUCTION. The youngest Wilde cousin, Lady Skye (a delightfully charming Beauty who doesn’t understand the word “No”), teaches a reclusive, emotionally scarred nobleman (the Beast) to love again. Fans of my Paradise series (which stopped with #4, FEVER DREAMS) will be glad to know I’m bringing back the gorgeous, enigmatic Earl of Hawkhurst (aka Hawk) and finally giving him a well-deserved happy ending to wrap up the Paradise series.

**

This third offering in the Legendary Lovers series was a light, fast, sweet and sexy read. Nicole Jordan has written many Historical Romances and her ability to tell a page turning story is very evident in this series. Her character development is exemplified by the protagonists’ personalities carrying through the entire book. Lady Skye is a happy, sunny, determined beauty and Hawk is a dark, noble, honorable, shattered soul, a beast; thus the theme of Beauty and The Beast. It is a fairytale and we long for Skye to get her Earl charming and Hawk to be redeemed by the love of a beautiful woman.

There are some moments of the 21st century sensibilities creeping into this Regency era story. Lady Skye is probably far too bold and wanton for a woman of the time period, but she is forgiven because she is on an altruistic mission to not only land herself Lord Hawkshire but to find her uncle’s one true love. This was a good story, with some fearful moments and some very sensuous scenes.

Description from amazon.com:

For Lady Sabrina, it’s a case of too many suitors…

Lady Sabrina Grayson is determined to avoid the kind of reckless love that ruined her mother’s happiness, instead setting her sights on a very sensible alternative: Lord Francis Fairford. But before she can attract his notice, a very different sort of man enters her life. He’s everything Sabrina thinks she doesn’t want, yet her traitorous body says otherwise.

Once upon a time, he was her childhood nemesis. Now Henry Herbert, Viscount Montgomery, has grown into a darkly handsome and ruthlessly seductive man―a man who desires the woman he once called a pest. Soon their tempestuous kisses are the talk of London. When competition from other suitors results in a vindictive kidnapping, Henry races to rescue his beloved and convince her that the only fitting end for her scandalous Season is to surrender her body—and her heart—to him…

**

Sabrina is nineteen and having her first season where she expects to land a husband.  She wants a man who is compatible, but not one she can fall in love with.  Her father and mother had a passionate love, but after four daughters he became a philanderer and Sabrina witnessed her mother’s distress.  Sabrina thinks if she doesn’t love her husband then she won’t care what mistresses he takes. Lord Montgomery arrives on the scene, after knowing her as a pesky nine year old, to fall in love with her and to make her fall for him.  Sabrina is steadfast in not marrying for love and sets out to find suitors that don’t “stir her blood”.  This leads her to break a few hearts and also to a dangerous liaison.

This is another delightful novel from Liana LeFey, her first being Countess So Shameless.   We have a headstrong , often immature heroine but one who is most likely acting her age.  We have a to-die-for hero who does act his age.  There is romance, danger, action and heated encounters.  The plot is original in a genre that is often not very original.  Ms LeFey leaves us wanting more from her, I can’t wait for the next book.
