A funny thing happened…

Unlike most men of his acquaintance, Gregory Bridgerton believes in true love. And he is convinced that when he finds the woman of his dreams, he will know in an instant that she is the one. And that is exactly what happened. Except…

She wasn’t the one. In fact, the ravishing Miss Hermione Watson is in love with another. But her best friend, the ever-practical Lady Lucinda Abernathy, wants to save Hermione from a disastrous alliance, so she offers to help Gregory win her over. But in the process, Lucy falls in love. With Gregory! Except…

Lucy is engaged. And her uncle is not inclined to let her back out of the betrothal, even once Gregory comes to his senses and realizes that it is Lucy, with her sharp wit and sunny smile, who makes his heart sing. And now, on the way to the wedding, Gregory must risk everything to ensure that when it comes time to kiss the bride, he is the only man standing at the altar…

Ah yes, the final Bridgerton sibling is given a book in which he is to fall in love.  All Julia Quinn fans are sighing with the satisfaction that they all get an HEA or with tears that the saga has come to a close.  I’m a bit of both but Ms. Quinn has given us one last hurrah in that she did pen 2nd Epilogues for all the books which can be found in THE BRIDGERTONS: Happily Ever After.  But back to Gregory and Lucy…

This was a delightful book where falling in love seems to be the rule for everyone. Gregory falls for Hermione, Hermione loves Edmond, Lucy is engaged to Lord Halsby, Richard loves Hermione, Lucy loves Gregory, Lord Halsby loves?….Yes, it seems that Hermione is the most sought after and Lucy is her Regency style wingman.  How Ms. Quinn brings about a successful HEA with all that is going on is just a testament to her skill as an author.  Just when we think that all will work out for the best a twist throws all our speculation to the wind. Such Fun! Gregory is such a handsome, well-spoken Bridgerton just like his brothers.  Lucy is organized, practical and not flighty like Hermione, but also not as beautiful which gives her a slight inferiority complex.  Somehow we know, probably because we have met this family in the other 7 books, Gregory will come to his senses and fall in love with Lucy.

Another terrific book in this terrific series.  I originally read them out of order but I really suggest that you tackle them in order like I did for this reread.  And like me you can now get each one as you finish the previous because they are all available. Yay!
