Extra- “Dracula” coming to NBC

Dracula NBC

I’m not expecting to like it as much as I swoon over the old “Moonlight” series, but I’m willing to give it a try.  Trueblood and The Vampire Diaries have not been able to steal my heart from “Moonlight”.  Here is what NBC has to say about its new show (not yet scheduled).

The father of all vampires rises in this provocative new drama starring Golden Globe® winner Jonathan Rhys Meyers (“The Tudors”) as one of the world’s most iconic characters.

It’s the late 19th century, and the mysterious Dracula has arrived in London, posing as an American entrepreneur who wants to bring modern science to Victorian society. He’s especially interested in the new technology of electricity, which promises to brighten the night – useful for someone who avoids the sun. But he has another reason for his travels: he hopes to take revenge on those who crossed him centuries earlier. Everything seems to be going according to plan… until he becomes infatuated with a woman who appears to be a reincarnation of his dead wife.

From the producers of the critically acclaimed, Emmy Award®-winning hit “Downton Abbey” comes DRACULA, a twisted, sophisticated and provocative take on Bram Stoker’s classic novel, proving that some stories are truly eternal.

Halloween Treat from Deet — Stephen Amell and TV’s Sexy guys

No tricks only treats this Halloween.  Yeah, I know you’ve been missing Sexy Man Tuesday so today the treat is a hottie that you can see each week on the CW’s  new show ARROW, Stephen Amell.  And after you get to understand the meaning of sexy comic book characters there is a video of other hunky TV guys.

What is it about a buff guy wearing a hoodie.  The first time I thought this was hot was when I saw that “Assassin’s Creed” guy wearing that hood as he leveled everyone in the video game.  But let me tell you, watching Stephen Amell as Oliver Green in ARROW is a heck of a lot hotter than an animated guy.  Well just take a look………….

those other guys are worth a look, too.

The CW sure doesn’t mind showing off his bod…..

Although I can’t swear he does all those fantastic stunts in the show, they certainly are impressive.  But you know I love  his pretty face……

Ah-h-h-h and now for all those other sexy TV guys…..   the music is a bit Freaky so play it softly at work but definitely listen….

Oh Yeah…You’re welcome.

Extra News- Outlander novel to be a Cable TV series

Blogger friend Diana over at Paranormal Romance had this big news.  Check out her blog.

It’s true. We’re gonna get a cable TV series for OUTLANDER! Let the casting calls begin. OK — it’s a little too early for that but here’s what Diana Gabaldon posted on her Facebook page today:

WELL, ALRIGHTY, THEN… Yes! It _is_ true; while final contracts aren’t yet signed, we do have a deal with Sony Pictures for development of a cable-TV (as in HBO, Netflix, Starz, Showtime, whatever…that kind of thing) series.

Want more deets? Deadline Hollywood reports that Ron Moore   — developer/executive producer of BATTLESTAR GALACTICA will write the series adaptation. Sony Pictures TV bought the rights. The project, according to Deadline Hollywood, will be taken to cable networks this week. The complete story from Deadline Hollywood is HERE.

Here’s what Ron Moore (@RonDMoore) and Diana Gabaldon (@Writer_DG ) are saying on their Twitter feeds about the deal:

Big fan of @Writer_DG’s Outlander books for many years, excited for the opportunity to do a FAITHFUL interpretation!

@RonDMoore Now go tell that to the 10K people going nuts on my Facebook page. <g>

Here is a video that will give you an idea of the story.  I don’t view the characters quite this way but it is a good overview of the story.
Who do you see as Jamie and Claire?  I see me as Claire….okay…maybe not.
Now this is my idea of Jamie Fraser, Gabriel Aubrey:

Sexy Man Tuesday- Austin Peck

Thanks to my friend, Dottie, we have a really fine looking man for this weeks title of Sexy Man Tuesday.  He is Austin Peck, an actor who plays Austin Reed on TV’s Days of Our Lives soap opera.  It seems I have been missing out by not watching daytime TV.

Oh Yes! “One of these please, and don’t leave out the dimples.”

Pool play….

Waking up in a messy bed……..

Sexy Man Tuesday- Jason Momoa as Khal Drogo and Conan

What is it about this barbarian that is so sexy?  I think we love Kahl Drogo because he is not only barbaric but we get to glimpse the softer, thoughtful man inside the bad boy, and his being a hunky man helps a good deal, too.

Jason Momoa plays Kahl Drogo in the HBO series “Game of Thrones” and he also stars in the recently released “Conan” movie.  I am a huge fan of the HBO series.  It is so well acted and written that the characters just suck you in and won’t let go.  George R.R. Martin, who wrote the books, must be very pleased with the way his work has been handled.  I have not read the books….I know, I’m feeling a bit guilty about it….but I am so enthralled with the show that I don’t want to confuse myself, or maybe I’m just lazy.  All I do know is that I cannot wait for the next season.  If you missed the first season you can play catch-up ( if you are an HBO subscriber) on HBOGO.com and no one is compensating me for this plug.

This last photo shows our barbarian all cleaned up in modern duds.  Still YUM!

Trueblood Season Premier

True Blood premier

What I expected:

I’ve watched the first eight minutes of the season opener on HBOGO so I know Sookie goes to Fairyland and then escapes Fairyland.  Actually I would have liked eight minutes of a shirtless Joe Manganiello or Alexander Skarsgard.  Either way they know I’ll watch the show.  I think we will see more of evil Sam, Cougar Jason, Shirtless Alcide and Muscle-tanked Eric.  More Whiney Bill I can do without but I’m sure we will get plenty.  Watching trailers I see there will be witches to foul up Sookie’s life and Lafayette’s life, too.

What I got in the Season 4 opener:

Um-m-m I tended to lose all train of thought when Alcide walked into Fangtasia.  Of course yelling at the TV “Take off your shirt.” did not go well with my image of sweet, sugar mouthed, lady of the house.

 The Jessica/Hoyt angst was good.

Sookie didn’t seem too upset that because she couldn’t make the leap from Fairyland she caused her grandpa to die!!

Those were some incredible witches, bringing a bird back to life even if only for a few minutes.  What’s next, vampires?

And sweet Sam is no longer very sweet.  He lost sweetness last season but I thought he might get it back, he didn’t.  Sam’s brother is hanging with Hoyt’s mother?? WTF!

Arlene has a baby demon.

Jason is still mixed up with the inbreds.

Bill is now King.  That was a lot to digest in the first show.

Tara, is now a lesbian.  Even more to wrap my mind around.

This show remains very campy.  Do people use that expression these days?  It means tongue in cheek but with a certain cool that is difficult to define.  I probably would not continue with its silliness if I hadn’t read all of the Charlaine Harris series and watched faithfully for the past 3 years.  It’s like an addiction now that I will need rehab to break.  I promise to only go on about it occasionally but I’m afraid I can’t go cold tukey.
